Ubuntu 9.10 is very slow

Hello,

i upgraded from 8.10 to 9.10 i found out the system is running slow, i removed the OS reinstalled it again clean ubuntu 9.10, as my os is running slow and i dono why i check everything
My laptop is Asus M51vA
CPU Intel T9600
RAM 4GB
Video Card ATI RADEON HD 3650
it used to run much fasted in 8.10

Im using the 32x-OS and i would like to know it installing the 64 version would solve the problem !!


even the boot is running slow its like there is a delay in the response..

i have found something when i remove my graphics card and using simple Graphics the desktop will react much faster and much smoother
my Vcard is ATI RADEON HD 3650..

any idea's guys, even if i installed the driver the desktop is lagy

Are you running different programs now? I haven't used Ubuntu 8.10.

I was having a little problem like that, too. It took me a while to figure out that I had 12 windows open in the other Desk.

Try looking in the other disk. And turning off the computer. (if you haven't done those already)

i ddnt use 8.10 but carmic cola runs petty smoothly with me
