Hi,

My Karmic install is huge_ly disappointing. So I want to move on with a more appropriate install. But I did take some 'notes' with Tomboy just to find that Tomboy (Farmboy)
apparently doesnt have any 'export' features built into it.

In other words get out while you can!!!!

Thanks in advance,

There are add-ins that export Tomboy notes into several different formats.

Hi (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=231182)LiamPreston (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=231182)

Noob here. I've sufferred from a hung system and may need to have a clean 9.10 URM install. What can you tell me about Tomboy notes as I've spent a week using them extensively and want to identify and later reinstall the data and any other related files tomboy needs for me to access my weeks work. Appreciate any pointers. Thank you. Oh yeah, the SSD saw encrypted at the install...

In sync tab in Tomboy choose Tomboy Web and press connected button and all your tomboy notes will be automatically sync with Ubuntu One and you can read them from browser or sync with Tomboy on another computer.

How do you access the notes if your original install hangs on boot each time and the drive is encrypted? In other words I can only look at the drive via a usb stick drive install

All I can say in short is that this Karmic instal is not working for me..your miage may
vary. So I want to move on and I am apparently unable to recover any 'Tomboy'
notes I made along the way. Before 'Tomboy', I just made notes to myself using
pico or gedit, etc. The ubuntuone client that came with my install does nothing other
than hang as a sleeping daemon.

My point is that any info that is important to you that you trust 'Tomboy" with is,
how do you say, ...........unfindable on the workstation you need to backup by hand.

Good luck with it all,

Hung system repaired. Unable to source /.tomboy in home directory however followed advice here http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2009/06/synchronise-tomboy-notes-with-dropbox/ for easy backup process.
