I'm needing help setting a USB drive installer for Studio Ubuntu. I tried UNetbootin on Karmic and Ultra ISO on Windows and both basically didn't work. :-\

I'm using a 2 GB SanDisk Cruzer for this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The sandisk cruzer has a U3 file that is a pain I always reformat the thumb with gparted to fat 32 before installing a ISO on it with usb creator. I don't know if this installer works with that distro though. Here is one you haven't mentioned trying.

I had found that site on another post and never really looked through it. I'll try it and post my results back. :)

Edit: What exactly does it do because it's around 500 MB. :-\

The people at pendrivelinux are certainly a bunch of 'nutters' - in the nicest sense - they've done some pretty darn cool things to pen-drives - including dual and multi booting ones !!! I've sent many over to the site & all have reported success.

From memory the U3 area is either encryption of backup software - I've only come accross one of their devices, some while ago.

So I stated what my problem was here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1341122).

Basically the "installation CD" can't be mounted.

As I mentioned previously - the making of a usb that'll work with ISO's is on the pendrivelinux site - Try it out - they report good results with various ISO's
