For the next two years I am in beautiful Dushanbe, Tajikistan -- I have to say the air quality is much better than Kabul and I feel lighter -- (oh yea, no 40lb flack jacket!)

Right where my profile says, in Beautiful BC. THe home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. BTW most of the ski hills are open early this year, so most of the snow should be gone by the time the Olympics start. :)

Right where my profile says, Porirua (http://www.poriruacity.com), New Zealand. It is so close to Wellington (http://www.wellingtonnz.com/) that it is mistakenly believed to be a suburb, but it's actually a city in its own right.

But since I believe in 4D, the position of the hemisphere only corresponds to the side of the bed I get out of i the morning. :)

That reminds me of an office where I used to work, many years ago. There was one American who used to get a lot of ribbing about driving on the "wrong" side of the road in the US, and similar stuff. One day, someone asked him, "Hey, what direction do you deal around the bridge table in the US?"

His answer: "The same way the water goes down the bath plug-hole."

Reminds me of when I was in the Navy and cross the equator the first time. Everyone ran down to the restrooms (heads) to flush the toilets to see the water go the opposite direction.. lol

Um it's sort of right but not really. Oceania isn't exactly a continent. And it placed me near Newmarket in Auckland (something like 600km away)

If the world is the other way round then all the planets move in the opposite direction too. I have terrible problems with left and right so I always bring this up when people criticize me. Left right north south east west up down, it's all imaginary.

Hes right, it should go clockwise! Funny, bridge is meant to be dealt clockwise, so if he can get used to our southern hemisphere water direction, maybe he could get used to us driving on the right side of the road.

BTW, it makes more sense to me to drive on left side of the raod, with driving position on the right of the car. That way you shift with your left hand, leaving the stronger arm on the wheel. Well, apart from southpaws...(northpaws?), but they are wrong as well.

Heh, I hadn't noticed that Oceania entry. Your right, of course, its not a continent but thats a mistake you can find in lots of places. More wrongness.

www.whatismyipaddress.com (http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/) actually gets my location right. I had assumed that all GeoLocation/GeoIP would be roughly similar, and make similar mistakes, but obviously thats wrong :) LOL

any site that detects my ip, it never shows the exact location. I live in Toronto and these sites always display "London Ontario" or in some cases they list me in the US. weird!

You do know that any SuperMod or Admin (or even regular Mods, depending on permissions etc.) on any forum could easily see your IP address no problems, and there's plenty IP to Location tools out there. Using a Proxy becomes highly irritating after a while. A VPN however would be a viable alternative.

But truly, if you want 100% privacy, you're better off you stay off the internet entirely. :)

How much or how little information you reveal about yourself is entirely up to you.

I don't use my full real name here in the forums but there's probably enough info in my profile for people who know Mrs Lisati & myself to figure out who I am. And no, I don't look that much like Helen Clark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Clark), whom I have actually met.

Here is some info about the town: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourcoing. You can try the more complete French version if you understand that language: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourcoing.

Finally, try and look at this website (in English) that tells about our beautiful county: http://www.cdt-nord.fr/uk/index.aspx.

I'm inclined to agree. A user name (not real name) plus a reference to a city of about 1 million people is hardly identifying me. And a city that size is nothing compared to many cities in other countries.

Now, if I broadcast my real name plus the street I live in, that might be different.
