Hi,

I have a little problem to install Xubuntu 9.10 on my notebook PC that doesn't support CDROM boot and am looking for a solution.
I can recover the system with Win98 and probably can start Ubuntu installer from DOS partition, but the issue is that my PC only has 6GB and I don't want to waste the space for Win98 that I hardly use. So basically, I want to convert Win98 partition to ext4 after Ubuntu installation is done and let Ubuntu see it.
Is it possible ?

Look at this.

Using this, you should be able to start the installer from a usb stick, and re-format the windows partition during the installation.

You might want to use the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, or Xubuntu, as they need less disc space.
