So I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and now, all the sudden, I have no bottom taskbar, nor do I have the bar along the top of the desktop that shows internet connectivity and the like. Just my desktop and icons. I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find a way to get them back and I'm afraid I might have to re-install. Anyone got any ideas?

Can u post what your video card is - the driver seems the most likely culprit.

It's an old Nvidia VGA card, possibly the RIVA TNT2, but I can't be for sure. I haven't had any problems with it, up until after the upgrade. Also, I have a desktop, like normal, it is just that the menu bar and taskbar are nonexistent, so I can't get to terminal from the desktop, or any of my apps.
