Compiz doesn't want me to use more Desktops

HI everybody.
I use Compiz+Emeralds. When the program was not installed or i deactivate it i can have all the dektop i want. Compiz instead seems to reduce my desktops to 2. It gets more funny wheni open the Compiz manager and try to change the number of desktops: there it says that i have only 1 desktop, and does not let me change the number :S
How is this? Is there a way to fix it?

Compiz handles workspaces in a somewhat different manner than Metacity, Xfwm or Kwin. If you use either of the first two sliders, you can easily change your number and layout of workspaces. Even if the bottom slider is active, it won't have the desired result, as workspaces proper don't play nice with compiz's functionality.

Yea, thanx. That is exactly what i mean. So essentially it is like that, not just a problem with my software/hardware configuration. makes me feel better lol.
