I borrowed a live CD from my friend and installed 9.10 karmic from it a few weeks ago. It has worked quite well, but I found out that the version he gave me was the standard 32bit and that I use a 64bit (Asus G50vt notebook.) Is this going to cause me any issues later down the road?

Probably not. My 64-bit laptop is running 32-bit Ubuntu right now.

There are posts somewhere on here about 32vs64 bit, but I think for the most part, most ppl can get away with using 32 bit. If you need 64 bit I think you would know because certain applications would be geared towards using it. If you use 64 bit OS I think it runs slower if its not running a program designed for it.. It makes addresses longer and files bigger i think, so basically, you are fine.

This is a bad example but like i said there are posts out there to be read!

You'll be perfectly fine.
