I am having a bit of fun trying to get my see anything on my DVD drive under WINE. I had oblivion working to some extent in WINE 1.0, then upgraded to 1.1.29 only for it to no longer work (black screen during play). I then upgraded to the latest Ubuntu (9.10 Karmic) distribution last week, and if I try running it, it can't find the CD.
I have tried autodetecting in WINE config, but this doesn't do anything. I can't browse to the CD under WINE. When I stick the CD in under Ubuntu, it comes up as a blank CD (and adds an icon to that effect on the desktop). Is there some conflict that prevents WINE from seeing the drive because the desktop is 'hogging' it?
Any thoughts appreciated.
