HD w/Grub dead...Ubuntu HD fine.

Hello.
I am running a desktop that had an IDE drive which had Grub (and *******) on it that died, the machine also has a SATA drive that has Ubuntu 8.10 on it which is still intact, but I don't know how to make or fix a new Grub partition so I can boot to it again. Is there a(n easy) fix for this? I hope this isn't a foolish question.

If I understand you correctly one of yours HD died and on second you have Ubuntu.Read this. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GrubHowto)

Thank you! As I first looked at all the information I didn't think I was going to be able to fix it, but I got through it and my machine boots again!
