Fresh Install of Win7, then Karmic?

I'm currently running a Jaunty/WinXP dual boot, and am considering doing fresh installs of Win7 and Karmic 9.10. From what I can tell, I should install Win7 first, then Karmic 9.10 - but I'm still a little bit lost and would appreciate any pointers on anything else that might make this transition easier.
