I have some limited Ubuntu experience having previously installed 9.10 on a desktop and a notebook without any great difficulty.
I am trying to install Ubuntu 9.10 on an old notebook [running Windows XP] and get to a certain point and the installation just appears to stall. This has occurred at various points, but the furthest I got was nominating time zone.
I have a 20GB unused space where Ubuntu is intended to go so no disk space problem.
The CD drive seems to not have any read problems and to make doubly sure I burnt and verified the installation CD on it.
Notebook has 1GB RAM, Centrino processor 1.6GHz I think.
Any ideas?
