View Full Version : [ubuntu] clean upgrade and still NO SOUND

After having no luck restoring sound after my attempt to upgrade to 9.10 (Karmic Koala is starting to get a bit ironic), I did a clean install. Still no sound. [EDIT-- sorry for the title. I did do a complete new install.]

There are comments all over the boards about this, but none of the fixes seem to do any good at all. Anyone have any ideas?

I do not understand how 9.10 was released with this major defect. Many, including me, rely on sound for live recording and playback...not just to while away the hours with a nice CD. Jaunty was just fine in this regard. How can they release a "new" version that is completely disfunctional in one major area of processing? Frustrated and About to Give Up on Ubuntu Altogether in California.
