I originally posted this in the General Help section, but having gotten no replies, I came across this section that seems more suitable.
Ok, so I just installed compiz on Karmic, and have been very happy with it, and was playing around with the settings. I enabled something along the lines of 'Other window effects'.
Afterwards, I went to minimize a window, and everything froze, no mouse movement, no response to keyboard commands. I reset the computer, logged in, open a terminal, and when I clicked, it froze again.
Since that, it will only boot up to command, with no GNOME. Startx doesnt work, and the same with anything else I try.
