I have been wondering who uses Ubuntu for what recently, so I thought a Poll might be the best way to find that out!
If you use it for desktop/server just choose all of the above.
If you choose other, could you please specify?
Personally I use Ubuntu for (in this order):
Server - SSH, WWW, Samba
Desktop - Gnome/KDE
Fun
Testing - Ubuntu development distro's (Dapper)
Development - PHP/XHTML+CSS/Ruby

For everything I do, it's either Ubuntu or ArchLinux.

it's the only os i've ever had besides windows ME. my computer is just a toy for me: internet, mail, gimp, cd player, collect photos. i like constantly changing my desktop and playing with different wms. in fact, i think i'll go install some other wms right now.
edit: meh. i'm too in love with openbox to cheat on it.

Desktop:
Web browsing, email, etc
Fun:
trying out different WM's, etc
Development:
I do some graphic design occasionally, and will, every once in a while, whip up a bash script or a wee C program to automate some task or calculation.
Primarily for Desktop usage, though.

Judging on the responses so far, am I correct in assuming we are a little bit more 1337 than a standard desktop user? Are there any people using Ubuntu as a server who have no idea about Linux, but have things working anyway.... just trying to assess how easy Ubuntu has made their lives vs other Linux distros...

Oh crap. Bumping into you here is like seeing that friend that you know from your home town in a pub in your college town..."Um, so, how's it going?" "Good, good...you?" "Uh...good." "So...um, what're you doing here?" "Hey, look what time it is, good seeing you!" "Yeah! You too!"
At any rate, I use it as my only OS. Desktop, fun, and development. I have a dedicated server that runs Fedora, though, so I don't need to make a server from my main system :-D

Damn, if only I knew you sooner. Would've scored me some extra Gigs. \\:D/
Anywhoo, I use Ubuntu mostly for servers and testing my custom-wrote PHP scripts. I use it as a desktop too, so don't call me a Linux-Hater . IMO It's the next best UNIX next to Mac OS X Server.

I use it for nearly everything except for gaming, .Net development and ripping audio CDs (I know, there is cedega, mono and the possibility to run exact audio copy in wine, however I find Windows to be superior in these areas (at the moment))
