Automatic Updates not working in 9.10

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 on two computers and on both machines the automatic update (Gnome/Update Manager) is not working. I set it to check daily but it does not check at all.

I looked in /var/log but found nothing. In dpkg.log I can see my manual updates but there otherwise no messages.

Does anyone know this problem - or how to debug it?

I too am having the same problem on a fresh install of 9.10
Cant find any errors
