View Full Version : [ubuntu] Problem with configuration server after upgrade

After a new install of Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop, Firefox would not install flash plugin for some reason so I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it with:
sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5then I did a:
sudo apt-get update and a
sudo apt-get upgradethat resulted in a lot of upgrading from the web.
Now I have this error message:
There is a problem with the configuration server.
(user/lib/libgcon/2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)What have I don wrong and how can I repair my dual install of Ubuntu and Windows XP?
Ops! Missed the vital bit. I installed the proprietary NVIDIA Quatro NSV video card driver to try and get my second monitor working
