Hey,
I believe that I have the same problem as presented in this thread:
ATI & Nvidia: no X, just blinking on 2.6.31 (Karmic 9.10) (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
Since I couldn't boot into the new kernel I tried booting into the older one...and was able to. I then tried to uninstall nvidia however this proved to be a really bad move on my part as now I can't boot into any of the kernels.
I tried booting in rescue mode to see if I could use the backup of the xorg.conf created by nvidia but it wasn't there....
How do I reconfigure the X server again using all the default settings?
