The Unix name would be a trademark rather than a copyright, I think. And with trademarks there can be overlap, provided it is unlikely to cause confusion.

A copyright or trademark in one country may not have the rights to the name in another, its simply that. Some countries laws are very loose when it come to product names and logos.
