Karmic boot issue..

Recently did a clean install of karmic koala.. everything works fine.. only thing during booting.. the system drops down toa tty shell and displays the login prompt.. then it stays there for 2 mins approx.. (2mins is a long time to wait at boot time) then proceed for the GUI boot.. I don't understand whats happening.. Pls advise..

Mine did that too, but I don't remember seeing it since I applied all the software updates that are now available.

I didn't think of it as a security problem anyway, just a visual issue.

no such luck.. issue persists.. even after the updates.. :(
