I have seen posts saying that they dropped usplash, and this led to some confusion for me on how to change the white ubuntu Icon on startup. This IS an usplash though.

So why are people saying they dropped usplash?
Does this new process seem a little redundant to anyone else?

I finally goth my own xsplash logo and throbber, as well as my own usplash Icon.

Usplash is in the process of being dropped. It's still in 9.10 at the very beginning of boot up and then it transitions to Xsplash. The goal is to completely get rid of Usplash in 10.04.
