text looks wide in firefox

i noticed this when i visit a site such as google reader where the text looks wide, and othr sites (such as this forum) the text looks normal

my monitor is 16x9 is the resolution is set correctly

is there a "fix" or is this normal? here is a screenshot of googlereader

Try installing opera and opening the same site in it.

Looks normal to me though. Its just different font.

Edit/Preferences/Content/Fonts and Colors/Advanced. You can set whatever fonts you like, and you can uncheck the box for allowing websites to use their own fonts, keeping your choices all the time. Some sites use fonts which don't work well on all monitors, so you can change them to what you like. Some sites use a default font, which is displayed as whatever you have selected as your default.
