Netbook Remix to Desktop

I successfully set up my netbook to dual-boot UNR and Windows XP. However, I am not happy with the UNR interface, and I want to replace it with the standard desktop version. (I read that the desktop-switcher app has been removed from the repository.) Can I just run the Ubuntu Desktop 9.10 installer and use the partition manager to delete UNR, or do I need to do it another way?
