Hello all.

-My name is Josh Beck and I'm a Technology Teacher in San Antonio Texas. For the last 3 years, I've been teaching my curriculum on Ubuntu, and I have one class I call 'Advanced Programming.'

-The kids in the class have been writing a MUD. (Multi-User-Dungeon.)

-I have 25 this year that can use the shell, emacs, ssh, telnet, ftp like their lives (and their grades!) depend on it.

-The game is DIKU based, but modified like crazy.

Telnet www.imakmud.com 4000

-If you are into Linux or RPG's, check it out. It's a neat class project.

Thanks for supporting these students!

I thought I'd go ahead and throw a bump to this thread one time.
My students have been working very hard over the last couple of weeks. Anyone interested in text based RPG's might want to check it out.

Thanks,
Pros

Never played MUD's. Just hang at Nethack.
But it looks neat. I'll look at it when I have time.

Where's the Linux binary? XD Where's the SOURCE, man!? Lol. Does it work in Wine? I don't wanna' waste my time installing it if it won't work.

There's no GNU/Linux file? Why tell us? And there's no world on the Windows edition. Trying to get hits anywhere, are you?

Sorry for the confusion.

Actually, you just telnet to www.imakmud.com on port 4000

In the Ubuntu repo's there is a client called gnome-mud that also works nicely.

It's a remote server that functions over telnet protocol.
