Ubuntu 9.10. We have "Application , Places, System" menu items.

Is it possible to remove texts and put icons instead and menu become:
"[Ubuntu symbol], [Places icon] , [System icon]".

I need this due to the fact that I like to use vertical-right menu location to economize by screen space.

As one workaround: we could use MainMenu applet instead of MenuBar applet.

But usage of MenuBar is still preferable - it is convenient.
