Hi,

I know it is an old question but I am facing problem in enabling compiz and also having problem while enabling desktop effects (even normal effects).

When Ubuntu is base OS for me, I have no problem and I am able to use desktop quite effectively with Compiz.

I did some research on existing threads and also fetched information with

lspci | grep VGA -a
00:0f.0 VGA compatible controller: VMware SVGA II Adapter

I tried compiz --replace
I also tried installing simple-compiz and also compiz icon but nothing worked.

my Username info:

uname -a
Linux nikhil-desktop 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

I need some help here ...

Thanks in Advance
