View Full Version : [ubuntu] Network manager applet in 9.10 sometimes won't re-enable the network

Note I am talking of wired ethernet, not just wireless.

I use the network manager applet to disconnect my computer from the network when not in use, by right-clicking the systray icon in the "systray" and clearing the checkbox for "enable networking". Then to reenable I visit the same menu item and check the checkbox. With 9.04 and below this worked fine.

Ever since I upgraded 9.04 -> 9.10, when I re-enable, sometimes the checkmark on "enable networking" appears but the systray icon remains at "disconnected" and the network is in fact disconnected even though the menu entry says otherwise. When this happens I have to toggle it back and forth half a dozen times before it will eventually decide to reconnect. This never happened with 9.04.

Suggestions gratefully received.
