I usually try to wait for a few months before I install the updated OS, but I have heard that the ATI drivers would work for my ATI Radeon 9200 in 9.10.
So, I installed Ubuntu from one of the official cd's. Everything ran fine, just like it always does, but when I finally made it to the desktop, I just got a black screen with my toolbars at the top and bottom of the screen.
Nothing is visible on the desktop. I can still access the menus, and change anything from the toolbars, but I can't select anything on the desktop. There is no background, and no icons.
I have tried to install this twice and I get the same problems. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
