I'm having problems installing VisualBoy Advance. I downloaded the linux SDL version 1.7.1 from their homepage, and extracted it, and attempted to run it, but it didn't do anything.

Could someone please tell me what I'm missing?

The visualboyadvance package is in universe/multiverse.

Is that to do with repositories? I've enabled them, if that's what you mean.

EDIT: And if that's not what you mean, I have no idea...

Yeah, you can install it from apt-get is what he means.

Which repository is it in - i can't find it in universe/multiverse or anyhwere - so is there anywhere else to get it?

Well I was sure I got it from Warty/universe, but I can't seem to find it either.

Sorry bro', didn't mean to mislead you.

That means I either got it from Hoary/universe or from:
http://debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org/pure64/

You could file a request with the Ubuntu backports team (http://ubuntu-bp.sourceforge.net/) or get it from Hoary/universe (search for apt-pinning in the forums).

Thanks for the help.

I'll check the current Hoary backports, and request it if it's not there. The link you posted there is AMD64-specific, isn't it?

So, I've installed visualboyadvance through synaptic package manager and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've had the same problem with vPython as well. I installed the program and I can't find or run them. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try running it from a terminal :)

Also it may be worth creating a new thread instead of reviving ones years old
