Hi,This is my first try at any kind of ubuntu.
I would like to install xubuntu-9.10.
I already have dual booting set up using Grub.So what I would like to do is install xubuntu to a partition and then modify Grub's menu.lst manually to point to xubuntu.
I do not want to disturb MBR at all.
Is it possible?

Thank you.

If the installer screens are same as Ubuntu, on the last screen (step 7) before you click Install button, there is Advanced button. There you can select grub not to be installed at all.

Thanks for your reply.
I just really don't want to miss that 'No grub' option.
Is there a good installation tutorial?

yes there is a way to not write grub! you can use my signature links at bottom or see here. Installation (https://help.ubuntu.com/9.04/installation-guide/i386/index.html)

NOTE: These links given are from 9.04 but hold true for 9.10 as well.

Welcome to Ubuntu!

This is for 8.04, what I could find on google in a hurry.

Look at screenshot number 7. You can't miss it, don't worry. Once you get there it is obvious.
