I am dual booting my system with a fresh install of Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. The install goes through no problem and I am brought to the Grub boot menu when starting up.

The problem is that my PC hangs at the "Grub Loading" screen for about 1-3mins before going to the Grub boot menu. I am running a separate hdd for each OS, as follows:

Windows 7 - sda - 60GB (or so) Raptor drive
Ubuntu 9.10 - sdb - 1TB Seagate Barracuda Drive

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this lag in the Grub boot menu loading and how I might be able to improve the load time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I am a newb with Linux, but Ubuntu is amazing. I have been running it on my laptop for awhile now and I am now installing it on my desktop. I would prefer to just run Ubuntu instead of Windows (as Windows just seems to be annoying now), but I still seem to need some apps (for now I guess). So, Thank You to all Ubuntu(Linux) developers, contributors and users. I love this OS :)
