looking for gimp tutorial

I am very interested to make some swirls in gimp but I dont know how to. anyone know any effects? please advice. here is what I want to achieve.

There's a Gimp podcast called Meet the Gimp (http://meetthegimp.org/) which is nice. You can watch it in Miro too.

Install the package "grokking-the-gimp".


sudo apt-get install grokking-the-gimp

Then go to /usr/share/doc/grokking-the-gimp/html/index.html and you'll find "Grokking the Gimp", a pretty good Gimp handbook in HTML format. Click on "Contents" and you'll find a list of topics. It also has an alphabetical index which makes finding stuff easy.

I already downloaded the necessary brushes for the swirls. The technique you posted above is something else but I love it!!!! I never knew gimp was so easy to use lol. when is single window gimp coming up btw? I mean OMG!!! I love gimp! :p
