How many Pure Mathematics students and/or Pure Mathematicians are there on the forums? (And I mean pure, not computational)

Just curious.

Also I am a senior Math Major at SUNY Potsdam, in Potsdam, NY a little town way up north.

Well, I'm doing further maths in 6th form, which means I do twice as much maths as everyone else. Out of which, 8 are pure, 3 are stats, and 3 are mechanics.

I'm a senior undergrad double-majoring in Physics and Math. The Math degree is only a B.A. because I didn't feel like fitting in a bunch more math electives to get the B.S. My main focus in life is Physics, so the math was just for fun. But it is indeed very pure math.

I'm currently doing an MSc in Computer Science, but before that I did an MMath (a masters) in pure maths.

I'm supposedly studying applied mathematics, but I've had so many pure math courses that I don't know what I am anymore.

In here, even CS courses tend to have half the subjects of nothing but pure math for the first couple of terms.

I was going to pick up a CS major or minor here but I didn't have time to take the intro courses. And I have also heard that our CS major is more theory then anything. And for that matter our Physics Major is more theory than applications. We just seem to be a theory based school. I just realized that making this post.

Suny IT in Utica? I went to Community College in Utica before going to SUNY Potsdam. Potsdam is 15 minutes from my house. I regretted going to Utica it was way too far away.

I might if I read books, Science Fiction would definitely be my kind of book if I read.

Who needs math when you control the Spice.

EDIT:

I can't believe nobody noticed my Dune reference.

I did, and subsequently posted a reply before seeing your second post
