View Full Version : [ubuntu] Gnome setting lost after restart

I updated (clean install) to karmic at the weekend. Today when I turned my PC some of my gnome settings had reset to default including background, icons, compiz setting and the whole bar along the top of the screen. Not sure what was going on, I checked my home directory, which is on a different partition (I deleted all the dot files when I did a clean install) and it looked fine (cant see any missing files at a glance). So I rebooted to see if that would help.

After restarting I had my icons and background back but the rest are still gone. Has anyone heard of this happening before? Is there anything I can do to make sure that it doesn't happen again?

Thanks in advance.
