I've been running phpbb2 (stock package) in Ubuntu for a couple years now, starting with 7.04. I recently upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10, and with that came the forced upgrade to phpbb3, since phpbb2 has been deprecated. I need to convert my phpbb2 database to phpbb3. This process is well documented when installing from a source tarball, but when installing from a repo, the "install" subdirectory gets deleted before I ever see it. Consequently, there exist no scripts to perform this database conversion.
Is there an easy way to perform this conversion, or do I have to download the tarball & hack up the install directory to match the configuration setup by the repo package? I'm *REALLY* hoping for the former.
