Hi Ubuntu community,

I have 9.10 up and running, it's awesome.

There's only one issue that is driving me crazy. My notebook (Gateway-ID58 Series (http://support.gateway.com/s/notebook/2009/gateway/id/id58/ID58nv.shtml)) has some fancy capacitive touch buttons to turn up/down volume, enable/disable wireless, etc.

BUT, one of those buttons serves as a Touchpad (synaptics) locker!!!

It's great in Windows as you are typing and you want to forget about the mouse, but in Ubuntu when you lock it, you can't unlock it again, unless you reboot the machine, and those buttons are so friking sensitive!!!!

I've been trying to reload Xorg but nothing happens, I think it might be a hardware Issue.

Anyone having this ploblem? Any Ideas?

Thanks!!!

Unfortunately I do not have an answer, I am running Ubuntu 9.04 on an acer with "those buttons". My buttons do not work with 9.04....Curious to see how this shakes out...

Bump for Interest.

I have a Gateway NV52 computer. Been using it since I bought my computer and the computer before. I would like to make the Capacitive touch keys work on this computer especially the "Programmable Button" or the "P" button and also for the touchpad disabler to work. Thanks.
