Ok, ok, this is the strangest bug I've ever encountered. For some reason after 3-30 seconds gnome stops updating the screen until I move the mouse. If there's a clock ticking away seconds for example it appears to stop. Other apps continue working, for example if I'm listening to music in Audacious the song continues *BUT* it will not move to the next track until I move the mouse. This same strange behaviour is seen in other music players as well.
The screensaver never starts and the monitor is never powered down per power management settings.
Anybody have any idea where I could even begin to figure this out? I've had this problem under 9.04 as well as 9.10. Another odd piece - for the first week I was using 9.10 this bug went away, then it reappeared randomly.
