View Full Version : [xubuntu] Crashed Install, Can't Start Xubuntu

After several failed attempts at trying to get Xubuntu installed on my old gateway, I bit the bullet and went ahead and put it on my main HP laptop. Or at least, I tried to.

The installation went smoothly up until the end, when it was transferring docs and settings. Then it froze and I had to shut it off and restart. Now, my computer just loads Vista like nothing else is there, but when I try to reinstall Xubuntu, the partition page tells me I already have Xubuntu installed. So, how do I get the first failed install off my system and Xubuntu reinstalled without overwriting the entire system? I still need Vista on this computer, unfortunately.

Thanks everyone!

You say it goes straight to Vista without showing the Ubuntu boot menu? Inthat case, boot from the CD and run GParted and remove the Ubuntu partition.
