Hey all,
First, the conclusion. When i boot my computer it says
GRUB loading.
error: file not found
grub rescue> Recently I backed up my files to a different partition, then did a clean install of 9.1. Everything has been working great, and I thought I had reached computer utopia. "But what about gaming?" I asked myself. So I found myself an xp installation disk, a nice partition on my drive and a decent tutorial. I had issues with my disk just prior to formatting any space (this being in xp's installation screen" and was forced to cancel. Being naive, I assumed just booting my computer would work out. Needless to say, it didn't. I've followed several of the tutorials about resolving this conflict
see http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_linux_and_windows_xp_linux_instal led_first.htm and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot. My solution, after hours of failure and tears, was to install ubuntu onto a small partition. It worked, now I can choose between the two. However, I didn't want two Ubuntu partitions, so I removed it and back to the aforementioned error. I would like a cleaner fix, but hey, if it works... right?
Either way, I eagerly await any suggestions. Thanks in Advance.
