Hi,

I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 new and loaded KDE 4 afterwards.

The former install was a 9.04 with KDE 3.5, due to a dist-upgrade started by accident (it is my customers PC) this special version became unstable so I decided to do a clean install on another partition.

Now my problem, I have a USB barcodereader attached next to a USB keyboard and a USB mouse. The barcode reader will not give any output to an editor, it is functioning though. I read several threads but it seems "modprob usbkbd" will not work anymore.

The reader is a very simple taiwanese product (Tenx or so) but has worked even on the unstable upgraded Kubuntu, just not after the clean install.

I desparately need some advise.

Some more information.

I have 8.04 and 9.10 installed on my machine.
In 8.04 the barcodereader works without problems.
In 9.10 it does not work.

In the forums there is word of a blacklist of devices and
this Tenx device should be on it, but there is no list,
no documantation whatsoever.

This is bad for linux's reputation, I had a point-of-sale
system working with it, luckily I own another barcodereader
that is functioning but I would like to know how to "unlist"
the device from the blacklist or some other workaround.
