Hi,

We are currently trying to install 8.04 x64 in our new servers. We are not able to complete the installation properly, because the NIC is not detected in 8.04. In our test lab, we've tried 9.10 and our NIC are detected, but not in 8.04. We want to use 8.04 as it is the latest LTS available.

Our NIC is an integrated Intel 82576 on a SuperMicro X8DAH+-F board.

There is a Linux driver available at Intel.com, and I would like to put it on the installation cd of Ubuntu 8.04. How can I do that ? I know that in Windows, it is possible to do a custom installation cd, but what about Linux ?

I'm a newbie in Linux, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I just wanna get my NIC working so I can install 8.04.

Thanks,

Neo

Hi,

The below method is not for the feint hearted, but it is the wiki of 'howto'

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallCDCustomization

I'd hang on a while and see if someone can give you an easier way.

Regards,

Phill.
