Fedora 11
ZevenOS

I dont need it either, I like to play with it. And I like to try different distros and vm's are easy to install and easy to delete.

Not to mention, none of my windows can activate in a VM, since they're higher than XP SP1; Windows can detect if it's run in a VM and tell you that it can't activate and that you need a new cd key.

Are you suggesting I pirate? I haven't done that since December 2007!

I would never suggest someone pirate software!! For shame!! I am merely suggesting use it for experimental reasons.

I ask a simple question out of curiosity and it gets turned into a piracy issue. Can we return back to the original question?

Well, with the way you said it, "Get one online." I don't think getting windows xp from an online distributor for free is legal.

If you dont have a valid version of xp, I dont care. It was a question, regardless.

I've been running XP Pro in VirtualBox for as long as I've been running Ubuntu. I rarely ever use it though, as I find more ways to do what I need to do with Linux-based apps.

I have two valid versions, they just don't activate anymore because I've used up all the activation slots due to constant reinstallation!

I have xp, but I hardly use it. Its old hat.

Then if you really, really wanted to, you could get a keygen program to reactivate them. Personally, I dont have a problem with that considering you purchased the software initially. However, seeing how you dont need xp, there wouldnt be a point, would there?

If you really wanted to, instead of using a keygen, you can call MS and just reactivate in about ten minutes. All you have to do is talk to the nice man/woman in India.
