I was having problems with graphical issues with the desktop ubuntu install ISO, and am trying the alternate now. One thing I noticed is that at the language selection screen (First screen you see) with a USB keyboard plugged in, I cannot change the language or select any F commands (F1 F2 F3 etc). But in the desktop one it does time out eventually to english. In the alternate version the same problem persists with keyboard support, but there is no timer associated with defaulting to english....So....
Is there any way to fix this to try and get the alternate install working for my current situation?

In that thread another individual is experiencing the same problem with his monitor.
