We Celebrated here in Libya!!!, Yes this was the first Ubuntu Release Party in Tripoli. Ubuntu Libya LoCo Team celebrated the new ubuntu Karmic Koala Release on 30th Oct Friday on Zumit Hotel, The party was awesome, and the Ubuntu fans that attended really enjoyed themselves. Everyone was impressed with Karmic.
As this was the first release party along with the first activity for LibyaLoCoTeam it was challanging for us. FOSSiL helped to organize the event in conjunction with the Libya LoCo Team. The night started with opening address and was followed by three presentations.
The 1st presentation by Mohamed Ayed was about Ubuntu, the Ubuntu Communtiy and to introduce Ubuntu Libya LoCo team. As well, the presentation included many statistics for Ubuntu, how to activate the LoCo team, challenges the Loco team could face, how to resolve the conflict in LoCoTeam and the 2009 plan for Ubuntu Libya LocoTeam.
The second presentation , Karmic Koala New Features, was given by Nizar Alsaied. He covered the new Ubuntu 9.10 features, and the Ubuntu challange. The features are very interesting, keep going Ubuntu.
Finally, Mohaned Najim showed Ubuntu with 3D effects ( compiz)
Local TV covered the release party and new Ubuntu 9.10 CD’s were distributed to all those who attended the party. As a wrap up, we cut the cake with Ubuntu Karmic Koala logo.
