View Full Version : [ubuntu] Video problems after installing 9.10 on late 2006 imac

I was able to do a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10 using the AMD64 live CD (with all updates) and the xforcevesa option. Prior to finding the previous post by a mac user about the video option, I was able to install 9.04, upgrade to 9.10, and then choose the older 2.28 kernel. I may revert to that.

The 9.10 live CD install has two problems:

(1) there is no obvious way to switch to the intel driver, are there instructions for doing that?
(2) grub doesn't show the menu - it would be quite acceptable to revert back to the older kernel if that option was available.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The late 2006 imac has a 1.86 GHz processor and the GMA950 intel video chip.
