Hi,
ok i need to install 9.10 on a pc with no net or cd/dvd drive

it has a usb slot so

as the largest storage medium for this i have is a 1GB CF card

i have inserted this to my USB cf card reader

started usb disk creator selected the 9.10 iso
then selected my cf card
hit the format waitited for it to complete
then chose not to have persistant area (as its a cf card!)
clicked install
& when i boot it i get the syslinux boot: prompt as it cannot find 'linux'

what am i doing wrong?
why will this not boot

at no point did it tell me to now edit this file & move this here!!

surely this should work or am i just wrong?
if this is not compatible with 9.10 why does it not warn us!

i am sorry if i sound a bit narked but seriously since the release of 9.10 im sure ubuntu are getting ready for the bad karma to come back to them as this is far from a karmic distro!

I have no idea what you are doing wrong, nor wether your computer supports USB booting, nor if you have turned it on.

But ... head over here --> http://www.pendrivelinux.com/

Both unetbootin & pendrive supply working solutions, I guess it's just a matter of choice which you use.

well tried 3 methods now (usb-creator,unetbootin,pendrive)and they all get as far as the syslinux boot prompt stating the kernel image cannot be found!!!

not sure what i can do now as i dont have the funds to buy a usb dvd drive
