I have an old portege 3440ct - P3 500mhz and 64mb ram.
It has no CDROM and cant boot from thumb drive.
It had win2k on it so I grabbed uNetbootin for windows and got it to install xubuntu 9.10 via the net install.
Great - it rebooted and started the install downloading files on the go but after it finished and rebooted it's gone to a shell rather than a nice GUI. I suspect I've selected the wrong version from the installer but thought I'd plumped for the xubuntu desktop.
So now I'm a bit lost - how do I turn the shell into a nice xfce gui?
edit - 'sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop' seems like a good place to start...
