Downloaded Ubuntu 9.10 ISO and burned CD.
In the system have 2 SATA-2 HDDs 250GB & 500GB, and 1 PATA 80GB. DVD is SATA as well.

After Ubuntu Live Session is loaded, I start Install, pass initial steps until reach "partition" step. Choose "advanced" and there can see only SATA drives.
Close Install, open Disk Manager - no problem, 80GB partitions are accessible. GParted as well does not encounter any problems. Those partitions can be mounted and viewable in File Browser.
Turned off PC and physically disconnected both SATA drives from electricity. Started Install again - doesn't see 80GB HDD again.

Motherboard DG965WH, disc controller integrated.
80GB HDD has 3 partitions: Windows7, Ubuntu 8.10, Linux Swap.
Grub loader.
Didn't have any troubles during 8.10 installation half year ago. Right now trying upgrade -> 9.04 -> 9.10. Hope it won't cease boot after upgrade. But anyway want to figure out why 9.10 does not install on itself.

Any brilliant idea what's going wrong there?

Looks like duplicate of this problem:

will try and post updates.

UPD: Yes, removing dmraid solved the problem.
