Hello,
Sorry - I am quite new to Ubuntu and never got 9.04 working 100%. I have just formatted and done a fresh install of 9.10 but still have issues.
I am hoping my issues are related, so have summarised them below. If anyone could offer advice I would be grateful:
- Programs seem to look like they are about to launch, but then nothing happens.
- Programs close without warning and no crash report
- I have updated everything but one update always fails (grub-common). I have an error message if that helps.
- I installed the NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (v96) as a prompt recommended. Since I have done this, my screen resolution has been reduced to 1024*768 and no higher modes are available. I cannot start the NVIDIA tool and get errors when trying to remove the driver.
