I am trying to install a new theme for my login screen. The theme was obtained by going to http://art.gnome.org/themes/gdm_greeter
It is Brasillinux Eye theme.

Link does not work (for me).
If it is a gdm theme, right click on desktop,Themes and simply drag and drop the theme.

That doesn't work, it is a LOGIN type of theme, not a program or window theme.

It seems to be a gnome greeter theme. You cannot use it on Karmic because things have changed.Google for "GDM Greeter Karmic"....

Formerly it was installed by starting "gdmsetup",but this does not work anymore in 9.10

GDM is not that configurable in karmic. There are a few hacks to change colours. Search the old karmic development forum.

A gui to do this might appear some time.

So there is no way to change the GDM? This ugly dark brown skin is awful!
